Wayne Moore

Wayne Moore, 76, of Rienzi, MS, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born in Selmer, TN on September 5, 1949 to the late Rev. James Henry and Pauline Moore. Wayne's life was marked by a notable commitment to serving and supporting his community. After graduating from Biggersville High School in 1967, he proudly served in the National Guard, contributing to his sense of duty and commitment to his country. For 29 years, he worked as a rural service carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, where he became a familiar face to many families in the Rienzi area. Following his retirement, he continued to exhibit his strong work ethic and dedication to others by serving as a funeral associate at Magnolia Funeral Home for 13 years. His compassion and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A devoted member of Danville Baptist Church, Wayne found great joy in his faith where he served as song director. Wayne had a variety of interests in his life. He loved attending auctions, where he enjoyed discovering a "good deal" on farm equipment. Tractors held a special place in his heart, and he often found solace in the shop, meticulously cleaning his mowers. These activities were not just hobbies for Wayne; they were moments of joy that connected him to the things he loved. Above all, Wayne cherished his family. Together with his loved ones, he created countless memories, always nurturing the bonds that brought them together. His grandchildren were a particular source of pride and happiness, as he dedicated himself to being an involved and loving figure in their lives. Wayne Moore will be remembered fondly for his unwavering spirit, dedication to serving others, and profound love for his family. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Thursday, January 22, 2026 and from 10 am till service time, Friday, January 23, 2026 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. A Celebration of Life Service for Wayne will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11AM at Magnolia Funeral Home - East officiated by Bro. Roger Wood and Bro. Shane Evetts. A eulogy will be delivered by Buddy Kemp and Bill Staggs. Interment will follow in Danville Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jon Todd Duncan, A.J. Carter, Austin Shaw, Ashton Godwin, Kirkland Moore, and Tedford Moore. Magnolia Funeral Home - East is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Wayne’s memory include his wife of 55 1/2 years, Maylene Moore; his children, Kellie Carter (Jasen), Shellie Duncan (Todd), and Dustin Moore (Laura); his grandchildren, A.J. Carter (Macy), Brantley Shaw (Austin), Jon Todd Duncan (Allison Greene), Isabella Duncan (Ashton Godwin), Emma Moore, Raegan Moore, Alaina Moore, Harper Moore, and Miriam Moore; his sister, Carolyn Bishop; other relatives, and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wayne Moore Jr., and his brothers, James Paul Moore and Jerry Moore.
