Obituary

William “Bill” Owen Wiese, 95, was born to Lloyd and Zaida Wiese on October 25, 1927, in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to entering high school, Mr. Wiese felt called to attend a Christian academy. His mother subsequently contacted the Seventh-day Adventist college in Berrien Springs, MI, where she obtained employment as an experienced press operator at the College Press. This opportunity allowed Bill to finance his education throughout high school, progressing from an entry-level "printer's devil" to a journeyman printer. His printing expertise enabled him to travel internationally, producing literature and sharing his faith. In retirement, he adeptly embraced emerging technology, developing several webpages and maintaining his YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@SteppingupwardOrg/videos.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Annita Powers; his stepfather, Harvey Ennis; brother, Robert Wiese; sister, Phyllis Jeffery; and daughter, Lorelee Hunt. Following Annita’s passing in 2021, he resided with his daughter Brenda and son-in-law Brent until his peaceful passing on August 13, 2025.

He is survived by his children: Brenda Palmer (Brent), Calvin Wiese (Tami), Claire Blum (Clyde), son-in-law James Hunt, and foster daughter Christen Massey. He is also fondly remembered by seven grandchildren—Luther Palmer (Melita), Knox Palmer (Summer), Christell Hunt, Annalee Whitaker (Jim), Cecil Wiese (Caroline), Kaylee Wiese (Katherine), and Corbin Wiese—and nine great-grandchildren: Preston and Juliane Palmer, Daren Hunt, Solomon and Cecili Wiese, and Audrianna, Lily, Casandra, and Wendy Whitaker.

A graveside service will be held on Friday November 28 at 1:30 pm CST, at Thans Chapel Cemetery, 458 Hudlow Road, Dunlap, TN.

A Celebration of Life Memorial for both of our parents will be held on Sabbath, November 29 at 3:00 pm CST, at the Corinth Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2150 Highway 72 East, Corinth, MS.
